Dear CLARIN colleagues,

As you possibly know, CLARIN participates in the European PARTHENOS project<http://www.parthenos-project.eu/> which aims at supporting Research Infrastructures such as CLARIN.

PARTHENOS has, among others, a Work Package (WP7) on Training.
It produced a training plan with two phases, where the first phase aims more at training the trainers. See D7.1 Initial Training Plan<https://goo.gl/7Ufx3K>, especially Section 5.

Now PARTHENOS WP7 is working on refining the plan, and on creating training modules.
In this context, PARTHENOS WP7 would like to reach out to the relevant persons in CLARIN for the following:

– In the future, when a CLARIN consortium or centre engages in training activities, please consider to get in touch with the PARTHENOS colleagues dealing with training for research infrastructures (via Jennifer Edmond <edmondj at tcd.ie<mailto:edmondj at tcd.ie>>; Vicky Garnett <garnetv at tcd.ie<mailto:garnetv at tcd.ie>>; Jenny Oltersdorf <oltersdorf at fh-potsdam.de<mailto:oltersdorf at fh-potsdam.de>>), so that some form of cooperation could be installed.

– Please provide feedback: is support for CLARIN training activities by PARTHENOS useful/welcome along the lines of the D7.1 Initial Training Plan<https://goo.gl/7Ufx3K>, especially Section 5? What else could be included?

– There are already some draft pages on the Parthenos training website, for instance this page on User Engagement<http://training.parthenos-project.eu/sample-page/humanistic-knowledge/user-engagement/> – feedback on the whole site – and this page in particular – is welcome!

– On this same topic on user engagement, PARTHENOS is considering to include a training module (videoclips, slides, or similar) specifically on how to collect and specify user needs. Would such a module be useful for some CLARIN training activities? Also, would CLARIN members be able and willing to contribute to such a module, for instance, providing a success story of user engagement / user need collection?

Please feel free to come back to me, or directly to the PARTHENOS WP7 colleagues mentioned above, if you have further questions.

Thank you in advance!

Sebastian (Drude)
