Save the Date: Establishing the European Expert Curation Network!
Join us in Leuven, Belgium, on October 1-2, 2025, for a 2-day workshop<https://eden-fidelis.eu/events/shape-future-research-data-curation-europe> to shape the future of research data curation in Europe!

The EOSC EDEN project<https://eden-fidelis.eu/> invites the research data curation and long-term preservation experts within EDEN and FIDELIS for a hands-on workshop where we will:

  *   Lay the foundations of a European Expert Curation Network.
  *   Share expertise, experiences, and best practices.
  *   Build a collaborative vision for advancing data curation and long-term preservation across disciplines and repositories.


This workshop is the first of two events designed to bring together experts from diverse domains, including organizations, repositories (generalist/specialist), collections, and digital object types. Together, we aim to harmonize curation practices and address the challenges of ensuring data remains FAIR over time.

Who Should Attend?

We are aiming for a total of 30 participants in event #1, combining project internal and project external experts within a group with:

  *   Expertise in research data curation, quality management, or long-term preservation.
  *   Representation across organizations, repositories, collections, or digital object types.
  *   A commitment to advancing FAIR+Time and TRUST principles.


Travel Support Available: We will be offering travel support for selected participants outside the EOSC EDEN consortium. Participants will be selected based on criteria to ensure a balanced and diverse representation. This includes expertise in research data curation and long-term preservation, as well as coverage across disciplines, organization types, and digital object types.

A second workshop is planned in 2026, focusing more on training and endorsement of the EOSC EDEN project outcomes.

  *   Provide a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
  *   Harmonize curation practices across disciplines and repositories.
  *   Ensure data remains accessible and reusable as technology evolves.
