Dear CLARIN-BE members,

CLARIN-BE has just prolonged its agreement with CLARIN-ERIC till 2029. A
full news item (in Dutch) was posted in the INT newsletter. [1]

For those of you that missed these topics in the CLARIN Newsflash [2]:

  	* The CLARIN Knowledge Centre for Language Learner Corpora (UC
Louvain) is featured on the CLARIN blog
(https://www.clarin.eu/blog/introduction-ckl2corpora) [3] together with
an interview with Magali Paquot
(https://www.clarin.eu/content/clarin-newsflash-march-2025)
  	* There is a new CLARIN Knowledge Centre: LLMs4SSH [4], in which the
Instituut voor de Nederlandse Taal is one of the members. You can ask
your questions about LLMs to this knowledge centre.
  	* The deadline for extended abstract submissions for the CLARIN
conference is extended till 11 April

Feel free to contact me if you want to know more about CLARIN-ERIC,
CLARIN-BE or CLARIN Knowledgde Centres.

If you think this information is relevant to other people in your
organisation, feel free to forward it.

Subscribe to https://lists.clarin.eu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/clarin-be
to be part of the CLARIN-BE mailing list (if you are not already a
member of this list)

kind regards,

Vincent Vandeghinste

National Coordinator CLARIN-BE

Dear CLARIN-BE members,

For the CLARIN conference we as CLARIN-BE can select one PhD student to
go to the CLARIN conference in Vienna (end of september), to present
their work in the PhD session. If you have a PhD student that has done
work somehow relevant to CLARIN (use of CLARIN tools/resources or
creation of new tools/resources), then you can provide me with a
nomination and one paragraph abstract for this student. Conference
participation + hotel + catering during the conference is paid by
CLARIN. 15 June is the deadline to let me know.

--------------------------

On another topic, as you may know, CLARIN yearly grants the Steven
Krauwer Awards for

1. Early career CLARIN Researcher. The intended goal of this award is to
promote an early career person or group of
cooperating persons. This awards comes with a certificate and a prize of
500 Euro.

2. CLARIN Achievement. The intended goal of this award is to recognize
the work of a person or a group of cooperating people. The award comes
with a certificate.

As consortium, we can nominate people for these awards. See
https://www.clarin.eu/content/steven-krauwer-awards for more
information. 16 May is deadline for nominations.

kind regards,

v.

Dear CLARIN-BE members,

CLARIN-ERIC has been contacted by the ERIC Forum community and have
asked to share impact stories from ERICs.

You can contribute two types of impact stories for inclusion in the
document:

  	* Impact stories of ERICs on a European (transnational) scale
  	* Country-specific impact stories of ERICs

You can provide me a brief description of the impact story, which I will
pass on to CLARIN-ERIC. For more info you can also contact

Thalassia Kontino, MA
